Chat Reference
Model routing, available tools, shared credits, and billing periods.
Model routing
The model selector lists ZDR-supported chat models. OpenRouter requests deny data collection and require compatible parameters and ZDR endpoints. These routing requirements do not remove saved Y2 history or tool-provider data handling.
If a saved model loses eligibility, Y2 uses an eligible default when available. Otherwise, thread creation or model selection returns a model-unavailable error.
Available tools
Tool access depends on the active workspace, selected model, and conversation mode.
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Y2 documentation | Find product, API, profile, and delivery instructions |
| Web search | Find current external sources |
| News search | Search cached signals, inspect feeds, and read available recaps |
| Public profiles | Find and follow public briefings after confirmation |
| Profile management | Preview, create, or update profiles within plan limits |
| Intelligence | Query permitted OSINT, entity, incident, cyber, market, and investigation data |
| DNS lookup | Look up a domain's DNS footprint or read its snapshot history. A new snapshot uses one DNS lookup. Requires Pro or Elite |
| Image generation | Generate images through a supported model or image tool |
The News registry schedules 12-hour recaps. Other accepted timeframe IDs can return no cached content. Private chats omit tools that require saved state.
Agent Y2 credits
One Agent Y2 credit represents $0.01 of normalized usage. Members, API keys, Automations, and tools use the same workspace funding. See Plans and limits for included monthly allowances.
Y2 charges for model input and output using model pricing or a fallback pricing tier. Some tools add charges. A tool with no separate charge can still consume model tokens.
The balance shows included allowance, settled usage, active reservations, available funding, and period boundaries. A reservation reduces available funding while a request runs. Settlement records its actual cost. Failed or expired reservations release unused funding.
New requests require available credits and must pass workspace spending controls. Prepaid funding can remain available after included credits are exhausted. Usage attribution does not create a separate included allowance for each member.
Billing periods
Monthly subscriptions use their current subscription period. Annual subscriptions replenish their included allowance each month, using the annual term's starting UTC date and time. Annual payment does not multiply the monthly allowance. Without an active paid-subscription period, Y2 uses UTC calendar months.
Conversation storage
Saved conversations keep their messages and tool results in Y2. Private conversations do not appear in history and clear when the page closes or reloads. Usage metering still applies to private requests. See Intelligence Chat for the privacy controls.
