This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to recover the dummy user password directly from a single HTTP request and use it to authenticate as any of the 25 built-in dummy accounts (such as antawn, chynna, or kiki) through `wp-login.php`, potentially achieving privilege escalation if any dummy account holds an elevated role. Exploitation requires that an administrator has previously created dummy users via the plugin's Tools page.","epss":{"date":"2026-11-02","percentile":0.18151,"score":0.00263},"exploits":[],"kev":null,"metrics":[{"score":6.5,"severity":"medium","source":"CNA: Wordfence","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","version":"3.1"},{"score":6.5,"severity":"medium","source":"NVD: security@wordfence.com","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","version":"3.1"}],"modifiedAt":1793642158239,"publishedAt":1793429059791,"references":[{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/7c458034-9c44-4b46-8845-4c05bea043a0?source=cve"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-tools.php#L606"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-templates.php#L850"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-forms.php#L5244"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-userswp.php#L565"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://github.com/AyeCode/userswp/archive/refs/heads/master.zip"},{"source":"CNA: Wordfence","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3774438/userswp/trunk/includes/class-tools.php"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://github.com/AyeCode/userswp/archive/refs/heads/master.zip"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-forms.php#L5244"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-templates.php#L850"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-tools.php#L606"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/userswp/tags/1.2.78/includes/class-userswp.php#L565"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3774438/userswp/trunk/includes/class-tools.php"},{"source":"security@wordfence.com","tags":[],"url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/7c458034-9c44-4b46-8845-4c05bea043a0?source=cve"}],"remediation":[],"revision":"961ae845596523bd3efc6680b418939f5b2578870fc944480cb907855cf593ce","sources":[{"modifiedAt":1793642158239,"name":"CNA: Wordfence","retrievedAt":1793642959285,"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-119980"},{"modifiedAt":1793636359997,"name":"NVD","retrievedAt":1793643484745,"url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-119980"},{"modifiedAt":null,"name":"FIRST EPSS","retrievedAt":1793642960301,"url":"https://api.first.org/data/v1/epss?cve=CVE-2026-119980"}],"ssvc":{"assessedAt":1793639566446,"automatable":"yes","exploitation":"none","source":"ADP: CISA-ADP","technicalImpact":"partial"},"status":"published","title":"UsersWP <= 1.2.78 - Unauthenticated Account Access via Predictable Dummy User Password Disclosed through Registration Form Hash","updatedAt":1793643484745}
