When parsing a specially crafted H.265 bitstream containing a Screen Content Coding (SCC) extension with certain palette predictor initializer settings, an integer underflow in the upper-bound computation allows the parser to accept an out-of-range value for the number of palette predictor entries. This causes the parser to write beyond the end of a fixed-size array, resulting in memory corruption and an application crash. Successful exploitation requires an attacker to provide a malformed H.265 media file to a vulnerable application, and is limited to a denial-of-service impact.","epss":{"date":"2026-11-02","percentile":0.16707,"score":0.00252},"exploits":[],"kev":null,"metrics":[{"score":6.5,"severity":"medium","source":"CNA: redhat","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","version":"3.1"}],"modifiedAt":1793650660818,"publishedAt":1793386268851,"references":[{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":["vdb-entry","x_refsource_REDHAT"],"url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-119727"},{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":["issue-tracking","x_refsource_REDHAT"],"url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2564118"},{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":[],"url":"https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/merge_requests/10902.patch"},{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":[],"url":"https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/security/sa-2026-0012.html"}],"remediation":[{"kind":"workaround","source":"CNA: redhat","text":"No mitigation is currently available that meets Red Hat Product Security's standards for usability, deployment, applicability, or stability."}],"revision":"f804027a5e4a85d7675c40cde96a65557eb4d41cb400ba0f66e22fa235f7542d","sources":[{"modifiedAt":1793650660818,"name":"CNA: redhat","retrievedAt":1793653784912,"url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-119727"},{"modifiedAt":null,"name":"FIRST EPSS","retrievedAt":1793653810204,"url":"https://api.first.org/data/v1/epss?cve=CVE-2026-119727"}],"ssvc":{"assessedAt":1793650653616,"automatable":"no","exploitation":"none","source":"ADP: CISA-ADP","technicalImpact":"partial"},"status":"published","title":"Gst-plugins-bad: gst-plugins-bad: h.265 sps scc palette predictor array overflow via integer underflow in bounds computation","updatedAt":1793653810204}
