A local attacker who can run a malicious Wayland client can destroy a wp_image_description_v1 resource while an asynchronous ICC file read is still in progress. When the read completes, the compositor uses the freed wl_resource, writes into freed memory, and frees a pointer derived from that memory. This can crash the GNOME session and may allow arbitrary code execution within the compositor process.","epss":{"date":"2026-11-04","percentile":0.03717,"score":0.00144},"exploits":[],"kev":null,"metrics":[{"score":7.8,"severity":"high","source":"CNA: redhat","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"},{"score":7.8,"severity":"high","source":"NVD: secalert@redhat.com","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","version":"3.1"}],"modifiedAt":1793830666193,"publishedAt":1791816189674,"references":[{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":["vdb-entry","x_refsource_REDHAT"],"url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-108094"},{"source":"CNA: redhat","tags":["issue-tracking","x_refsource_REDHAT"],"url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2549511"},{"source":"secalert@redhat.com","tags":[],"url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-108094"},{"source":"secalert@redhat.com","tags":[],"url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2549511"}],"remediation":[{"kind":"workaround","source":"CNA: redhat","text":"Do not run untrusted applications in the affected Wayland session.
